Royal Canin Vet Feline Urinary S/O

Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O is a veterinarian-recommended therapeutic diet for adult cats with lower urinary tract concerns. It is specifically formulated to help manage and prevent struvite uroliths (and in some formats, calcium oxalate stones) through targeted nutrition. 

Key Benefits

• Struvite dissolution: Helps dissolve existing struvite crystals and stones. 

• Urine dilution: Promotes increased urine volume to help dilute minerals that can form crystals.

• Low RSS (Relative Supersaturation): Formulated to reduce the concentration of urinary ions that contribute to crystal formation. 

• Low magnesium content: Lower magnesium helps reduce the risk of struvite stone formation (magnesium is a component of struvite crystals).

• Complete dietetic feed under veterinary supervision: Intended to be used as the sole diet (or in combination with the corresponding wet version) under the guidance of a veterinarian.

Indications & Use

For adult cats with struvite uroliths, recurrent struvite formation, and/or lower urinary tract disease.

Not recommended for cats with certain conditions without veterinary advice (e.g., chronic renal failure, metabolic acidosis, heart failure, hypertension, pregnancy, lactation, growth) – check label.

Feeding Duration: For dissolution of struvite stones, typically 5–12 weeks; for reduction of recurrence, up to 6 months or longer under veterinary guidance.

Feeding Guidelines

Ensure fresh water is always available. Feed the diet as the only food unless directed otherwise by your veterinarian. If mixing wet + dry, follow the feeding guide. Example for dry format: for a normal weight 4 kg cat: approx. 54 g/day (per one NZ retailer’s guide)
